Shine Affirmative Psychotherapy can be seen as an integrated way of looking after your well-being. This means together we look at how your presenting needs interact with your gender or sexuality today, and how you manage your daily stressors. Chai-Yoel understands through their awareness of their own identity, that coming out as LGBTQIA+ is only part of our whole story. Shine is here to support you to build better coping mechanisms to cope with your everyday, this can be around support from choices make around being more open with your gender or sexuality, to decisions you make about end of life care.

Chai-Yoel offers Shine LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Psychotherapy, if you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer and coming to understand your gender or sexuality better, then Chai-Yoel will work with you to understand this better this may begin by understanding your journey of your gender or sexuality.

There are many therapists and organisations in the psychotherapy sector that will say they are open to working with the LGBTQIA+ community. When shopping around for therapy be sure to ask a few more questions around their experience and understanding of being LGBTQIA+, of diversity and privilege.

Where Chai-Yoel’s work stands out is their 20 years’ experience of working with the community. Coming from a faith background themselves Chai-Yoel has a strong interest in intersectionality, in how systems of power impact those who would be seen as marginalised in society, such as the Black African and Minority Ethnic Community, Faith Communities and the LGBTQIA+ Community, so works with these themes in a culturally sensitive integrative way.

Shine LGBTQIA+ Psychotherapy is here to support you at every stage of the rainbow!
