How Chai-Yoel Works

How I work

I work as an integrative therapist where I use a mixture of models, I am also happy for the client to use creative mediums, and it really depends on what works for you, my core models being: Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Intercultural.

  • Person Centred: The approach is for the clients to become able to see themselves as a person who has the power and freedom to change, and recognise their own potential.
  • Psychodynamic: This approach stresses the importance of the unconscious and past experience in shaping current behaviour.
  • Intercultural: The approach takes into account the whole being of the client and also the client’s cultural life experience in the world both past and present.

I am happy to take referrals from individuals, a parent or carer; GPs and the NHS; voluntary or statutory services, or; schools, colleges and universities.

Initial Meeting

Before starting your counselling with me, I will invite you to an initial meeting where we can look at what you want to explore. The initial meeting may take up to an hour and twenty minutes, this meeting is at a £40 flat fee. This offers you an opportunity to discuss any questions or worries you may have.

I am committed to providing the highest level of confidential services, consistent with the law, to all people accessing any of the services I offer. I may only have to break confidentiality in exceptional circumstances when you provide me with information that indicates a threat to your own life or health or anyone else’s. This is to ensure that I look after your personal well-being and work ethically. However, before taking any action, I would endeavor to discuss my intentions with you, though I reserve the right to report that information to the emergency services, your GP, the Police or Social Services.

It is my aim to always provide an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and equality of opportunity is offered to all in a safe and supportive environment. I recognize that we are all human and come with our own personal experiences of victimisation and discrimination.

Ethical Framework

Working ethically is the cornerstone to the one to one counselling, group therapy and supervision I offer. I subscribe to and I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists Ethical Framework (BACP). Currently, having gained the hours necessary, I am working towards completing my accreditation with the BACP.
