Welcome to Shine LGBTQIA+ Psychotherapy

Hello and welcome to Shine Lesbian Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) Psychotherapy.
Chai-Yoel Korn runs Shine LGBTQIA+, Chai-Yoel is an Integrative Body and Trauma Psychotherapist and Supervisor with experience of offering psychotherapy services to individuals and groups, adults and young people aged 13+. This includes Shine On LGBTQ+ Bereavement Peer Support Groups located in north and south London. For twenty years, they have worked and volunteered in the LGBTQIA+ community. I am able to offer short-term and long-term work, Chai-Yoel is able to meet with you in East Finchley, Clerkenwell or London Bridge, or via Skype in English.
I like to work creatively with my clients integrating body work, creative writing and art materials where appropriate. In the therapeutic work we do together, I will provide you with the best of care, and develop a professional relationship based on confidentiality, trust and respect.
I have a good understanding and experience of how our gender, gender identity, sexuality and the way we express ourselves sexually can get in the way of leading a happy and happy life. I work with a wide range of presenting issues including dealing with anxiety, confidence, cultural difference, depression, faith, gender dysphoria, isolation, long-term chronic illnesses, loss, personal development, relationships, self-esteem, social anxiety, stress and trauma.

East London Out Project
“I had six weekly sessions with Joel in late 2018, centring my confusion with my gender identity and expression. With Joel I felt that I was in a comfortable, understanding and in a safe space to talk about my experiences. Over time I was able to work with Joel to develop tools to help myself and continue to monitor my own feelings and decipher them. Some of these tools I’m still using months later, and I feel that their support during such a critical time was invaluable to my wellbeing. Before I started the sessions, I was feeling overwhelmed, but by the end I felt I had a better understanding of my identity and how to express myself in the wider world. I’m very grateful for the help that Joel has provided. Thank you!”.
